The $2 PPSR
Insurance.

Get the VIN. Go to ppsr.gov.au. Do not use third-party report sites that charge $30. The official website costs $2 and provides the raw data.

What it reveals:

  • 1. WOVR Status
  • 2. Debt
  • 3. Stolen Status
  • 4. VIN/Chassis Match

The Finance Trap

If a PPSR shows finance interest, a bank technically owns the car. If the seller disappears with your cash and stops paying their loan, the bank will repossess the car from your driveway.

NEVER BUY A CAR WITH FINANCE OWING.
